DeVore Field

The WRAM flying field was officially opened on July 15, 1978, and is named in honor of one of the founders and most dedicated leaders of our club, Frank DeVore.

Due to the hard work and commitment of WRAM members over the past decades, our club owns 87 acres of beautiful farmland which is home to a first-rate, and one of a kind, model aircraft flying field. The field was purchased in 1978 with proceeds from the WRAM Show. Eighteen members signed personal notes against their homes to make the closing. The field was officially named the Frank DeVore Field on May 25, 1992. There is a dedication plaque by the radio impound stand. The whole story is in the club history.
